I’ve been around for 2 years trying to write a book as a biography of my life so far and predictions and goals for the future, so that those who read can confirm that I really managed to fulfill what I set out as well as for myself.
Today, 27/04/2020 I finally finished my first chapter! I handed it over so that my family members could read and also give their opinion about it, after all they always lived with me. I will share with you who are also reading it or getting started so you can evaluate it too!
    Here it is:

    Cap 1

Rafa da Silva, firstborn of a family of four sisters, (Esmeralda, Elbany, Érika and Elizabeth) was born on February 22, 1967 at the Municipal Maternity Hospital in the city of Caruaru, Pernambuco. son of unknown parents was adopted shortly after his birth by Heleno Soares da Silva and Maria Vênus Xavier da Silva.

At the age of two, his parents moved to the city of Rio de Janeiro, where he lived until he was 10 years old when he returned to the city of Recife, going to live in the Santo Amaro neighborhood.

At 12 (twelve) years of age he was already fighting for survival, helping his mother, selling candy (jawbreaker) on the streets of the city, which is why his tendency towards informal commerce is already characterized. At times, his merchandise was seized by City Hall inspectors, which gave rise to the need to engage in the struggle to defend the rights of street vendors (street vendors) to be able to work to maintain their families.

Rafa was what we can call a self-taught person, because, despite not having completed high school, he was an intelligent person, updated and informed about the country’s political and social issues, engaging as a militant in social movements such as the Union of Street vendors from Recife, the Landless Movement (MST), and the Homeless Workers Movement (MTST), sometimes leading him to confront the military and civil police to enforce the rights of the living class on the margins of society.

She got to know the garbage recycling work through her mother in 2001, at Lar Beneficente São Lázaro when she went to participate in the National Congress of Waste Pickers in Brasilia / DF, receiving, for this, R $ 80.00 plus a basic basket (reference of Mr. Cardoso). At this Congress he was unanimously elected representative of the northeastern region of the country.

In 2003 he participated in the Social Forum in the city of Porto Alegre / RS and in the national meeting of recyclable material collectors in the city of São Paulo / SP where he was appointed to deliver the speech to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on behalf of the National Movement.

After returning from a national meeting in the city of Salvador / BA in 2004, Érick presented a depressed aspect in relation to his health, omitting this fact from his family, a fact that worsened on February 12, 2004 when he was taken emergencyly to the Polyclinic of the Ibura neighborhood in Recife, when he was, at that time, transferred to the Hospital Agamenon Magalhães in downtown Recife, when he was admitted with leukemia suspicion.
